Mikey got a much needed haircut today. We met a little old lady who owns an adorable little salon, tailor and motorbike rental shop down the street from our hotel (complete with ancient Singer sewing machines and spare engine parts). His haircut turned out less than desirable (even though he just asked her to shave it all off) but she performed her job with such intensity and care that Mikey didn’t have to heart to ask her to fix it. He has a little tuft of hair on the top of his head now, which I find incredibly adorable

My mum’s (now mine) old Singer sewing machine, which was originally manually powered. Dad added the electric motor many years ago (? before I was born) and it’s still going strong.

I bought a brown hoodie today, the hood of which was grey on the outside. I cut off the hood and turned it inside-out and sewed it back on so that the brown side shows.

Getting old – had trouble threading the needle! Also broke one needle, but fortunately have spares. Must make sure I get some more!
